With infinite distractions at our fingertips, countless students have fallen prey to the irresistible urge to sleep through even the most refreshing of lectures.

7. Chew gum.

The act of chewing gum helps keep your jaw muscles active, which can help you stay awake and alert.

8. Drink lots of water.

Dehydration can often lead to fatigue, so it’s essential to drink plenty of water throughout the day – especially if you’re taking an online class.

9. Interact with the teacher.

If you want to make sure that you stay awake and pay attention during an online class, try interacting with the teacher as much as possible; ask questions, write down items on a whiteboard or chalkboard if the room has one.

10. Limit distractions.
